For over 25 years, Jeffrey has represented high-level executives, professionals, and businesses of all types and sizes – from Fortune 500 companies to international airlines, construction firms, technology companies, multi-unit restaurant companies, law firms, medical groups, and startups – in complex labor, employment, and HR matters. Jeffrey is also a frequent author and speaker on employment law issues. He has appeared in numerous publications and has presented before trade groups, conferences, professional associations, and corporations.
Jeffrey holds the most prestigious “AV Preeminent 5.0” ranking in labor and employment law, confirming that other lawyers and judges rank him at the very highest level of legal knowledge, experience, judgment, and overall professional excellence within the field. This is the highest rating that can be conferred upon an individual attorney, and very few attorneys can claim it. In addition, in 2018 Jeffrey was named a “Top Rated Lawyer in Labor & Employment Law” by American Lawyer magazine, Corporate Counsel magazine, and the National Law Journal.
Prior to starting his own practice, Jeffrey was an Equity Partner at the international law firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP where he was a member of the Labor & Employment Law Group. Prior to that, Jeffrey was Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Sloan Pratt LLP, a labor and employment law boutique in San Francisco, and an Associate Attorney in the international law firm Heller Ehrman LLP’s litigation practice.
Jeffrey has conceived, launched, and operated several of his own ventures. In addition to his role at Sloan Pratt LLP, Jeffrey was Co-Founder and General Counsel to PBG Development Company (in Washington, DC) and Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Consequince Hospitality Solutions LLC (in Washington, DC and San Francisco). This entrepreneurial and management experience gives Jeffrey a business owner’s sensibility and problem-solving focus that allows him to deliver practical, cost-effective legal solutions to his clients.
Jeffrey is a member of the Labor & Employment Law Section of the California Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association. Jeffrey is admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court and all state and federal courts in California, including the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Central, and Eastern Districts of California.
