Michaela has a lifetime of real-world HR experience ranging from business owner to upper management to HR and employment law paralegal.
Michaela is experienced in drafting offer letters, severance agreements, employee handbooks, personnel policies, performance evaluation systems, and many other HR infrastructural documents and agreements. She has overseen employee hirings, performance improvement plans, and terminations, and she has led the implementation of a variety of HR and employment policies in the workplace.
Michaela is also knowledgeable in the nuances of the various city-specific ordinances around the Bay Area and how they impact businesses and workforces.
Prior to joining Workplace Legal, Michaela launched, owned, grew, and sold a successful business. She also managed the workforce at a Top 100 San Francisco restaurant.
Michaela holds a certificate from the ABA-approved Paralegal Studies Program at San Francisco State University. She also has a B.A. in Classics with a minor in Latin, and holds the Athena Award for Academic Excellence, from Creighton University. Michaela is a Notary Public, a member of the San Francisco Paralegal Association (SFPA), and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
