Melanie D. Massey
Counsel
Melanie is an employment litigator representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex workplace disputes. Her practice encompasses wage-and-hour litigation, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblower claims, and related civil rights matters. Drawing on experience from both sides of the bar, she approaches each matter with strategic perspective, disciplined motion practice, and a clear focus on positioning cases for successful resolution or trial.
She has litigated matters through all phases of proceedings in state and federal courts, including extensive written discovery, depositions of fact and expert witnesses, dispositive motions, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation. Melanie has successfully briefed and argued critical motions and managed high-volume, document-intensive cases with efficiency and precision.
In addition to her litigation practice, Melanie has served in an in-house counsel role for a multi-national corporation, advising on employment compliance, internal investigations, labor-related disputes, and risk mitigation strategy. This experience informs her practical, business-oriented approach to employment litigation.
She also serves as a guest lecturer in college-level courses on workplace rights and employment protections, helping emerging professionals understand the legal structures governing the workplace and inspiring informed, confident participation in their careers.
Admitted to practice in California state and federal courts, Melanie delivers focused advocacy grounded in rigorous analysis, strategic execution and innovative solutions.
